Life Project for Africa Names New Board Member
|
New York City, NY -- Life Project for Africa (LPA), a charitable organization dedicated to
supporting professional healthcare and childcare services to poor communities in Tanzania and southeast Africa, is pleased to
announce that Al Louis Cecere has accepted an invitation to join the Life Project Board of Directors.
Mr. Cecere is the Founder and President of the non-profit American Eagle Foundation (AEF), based in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
Since its inception in 1985, under the leadership and direction of Mr. Cecere, the Foundation has accomplished many goals -
none bigger than to successfully help preserve the American Bald Eagle. The species was delisted from the Endangered Species
Act protection in 2007. The AEF operates a wildlife preservation and environmental education facility in Pigeon Forge,
Tennessee and is federally licensed to provide care for over 80 eagles and other birds of prey. Mr. Cecere and the AEF have
received numerous awards in recognition of their great accomplishments. In cooperation with the United States Congress and
United States Mint, the foundation created and marketed a commemorative coin set that has raised millions of dollars for their
conservation cause.
According to LPA’s Executive Director, Jess M. Collen, “I have known Al Cecere for many years and we have worked together in
different capacities. Life Project for Africa is very fortunate to have the benefit of his experience and wisdom as we
continue to seek ways to help some of the world’s neediest people in sustaining themselves and sharing the good fortune of our
own education and bounty.”
Al Cecere and Challenger, a 20-year-old American Bald Eagle, participated in Life Project’s recent gala event in Manhattan on
November 10, which was attended by prominent supporters from the worlds of business and entertainment.

The Mission of LIFE PROJECT FOR AFRICA (LPA) is to save life and give hope to the poor in Africa through services that promote
HEALTH, provide EDUCATION, tackle POVERTY, and provide HOMES (Shelter) to the homeless. LPA also supports ORPHANS and
vulnerable children among very poor communities. The non-profit organization is a Capacity Builder that identifies indigenous
groups or individuals who have started life-saving activities in any of the following areas: health, education, poverty
reduction, housing the homeless, and caring for orphans. LPA assists these people in building the capacity to achieve their
goals, make them sustainable, prepare an exit strategy, and then move on to help others build capacity . LPA believes that it
plays an empowerment role.
